had a three car garage treated for textured finish with multiple polyurethane top coats
exactly as expected. Quality of the work is spectacular. I’m guessing you could find someone to do the job cheaper, but in most things in life, you get what you pay for. Owner Mike and his crews were great to work with, did some additional work to help me out (moving stuff out of the garage so they could do their work when I was out of town) and did it on the dates they promised. If you wonder whether their price is worth it, I suggest you see one of their completed jobs!

I cannot say enough good things about the preparation and final results that The Garage Doctors did on our 3-car garage floor. The house was a new purchase for us and the garage floor had stains and cracks from the previous owners. Tom and his workers took so much time and care to grind the concrete surface and seal all the cracks. They were down on their hands and knees grinding the edges and corners, and took particular care around existing equipment, like the a/c handlers. There were some additional large cracks that they had to spend more time on. They really focused on the preparation and knew that if the surface wasn’t prepped properly, they wouldn’t be able to install the product with confidence. They did an outstanding job of applying the colored base epoxy coat and covering it with a heavy layer of flakes. That needed a day to dry. They then came back and scraped and shaved the flakes to get a smooth surface. After sweeping and vacuuming the piles of flake debris, they proceeded to roll on the first coat of clear polyasparate. That needed about 3 hours to dry before applying the second coat. With the 2nd coat, we had them sprinkle on a fine sand so the final surface would not be slippery when wet. They did little things that impressed me. They never put their equipment or sharp tools on an unprotected surface. They always laid their stuff on cardboard or blankets. When they were grinding the concrete, the grinder was attached to a mega vacuum that sucked up about 98% of the concrete dust. They really paid attention to details. In all, it took 3 full days to complete the job, then 4 days before we could park our cars on the surface. Do NOT be tempted to hire a company that promises a completed floor in one day; they will cut corners and you will be left with a substandard result. The Garage Doctors were professional, courteous, and proud of their work. We are amazed at how gorgeous and practical the garage floor is now. It was well worth the investment.

We interviewed several companies. This one gave us the most comprehensive assessment of our garage floor and also explained the differences between the various products on the market to resurface garage floors. Given the extensive water damage problem we had in one spot they recommended a heavy duty water proofer layer first followed by design flakes we picked out and then then two coats of polyasparate, rather than epoxy. This did result in the garage project taking a full four days to complete but we were very satisfied with the results – it looks simply amazing. Allowing more time for the garage to dry after each coat also allowed them to use a higher strength of the products. Companies that push one day completions are forced to use diluted products in order for them to dry quickly enough to permit this. We could walk on the floor at 24 hours, place materials back in the garage at 48 and put our cars back in the garage at 96 hours. We did find a single, quarter sized defect after we moved the garage contents back in. They apologized and made arrangements to send someone out immediately. They did a repair in about 15 minutes that was so good we can’t tell anymore where the defect was. Overall we were extremely pleased with the results.

Mike and his helper did an absolutely wonderful job! We started out this project because we saw calcium deposits and water “puddles” on the original concrete flooring in our 3-car garage. This indicated we needed what is termed “water mitigation” to seal the concrete so that the water and calcium would no longer come up through the ground beneath. We then decided to have the floor be redone with newer looking epoxy/polyaspartic coating to modernize. Mike was very thorough in explaining the overall process. In fact, he was the only one of 3 companies who wouldn’t guarantee that the mitigation would be 100% effective. We appreciated his honesty. Mike spent 4 days to finish the work, and thus spent a lot of time to ensure the job went well. It did go very well and we are very happy. We would highly recommend Garage Doctors to fix an ailing garage floor!!
